I would like to take this opportunity to thank my brilliant team for working hard to put together a campaign at such short notice and the count staff who worked into the early hours of Friday morning.
Although the result was not the one we might have wanted to see I am confident that we have shown that the Green Party is a credible voice in the political life of our city.
A voice that is committed to speaking up about the need to make addressing climate change a priority and about the inequalities faced by many of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
We will continue to work to protect green spaces in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle from poorly thought-out development and to defend public services that continue to be threatened by austerity policies enacted by local and national government.
In doing so we will show voters in Stoke and Newcastle that there is a viable, community focused and forward looking alternative to the parties currently dominating mainstream politics.
Yours Sincerely,
Adam Colclough,
Green Party candidate for Penkhull and Stoke.
