Among the litter collected was broken glass and discarded wood with nails in it, this could have presented a danger to children or pets using the park.
North Staffs Green Party Coordinator Adam Colclough said “the friends of the park group do such a good job of maintaining it for the community it is sad to see other people disrespecting their efforts by dropping litter”.
Local Greens want more investment in street cleaning and in keeping parks maintained for everyone to enjoy.
Adam Colclough said, “parks provide vital green spaces that are good for urban wildlife and the wellbeing of the people who use them”.
He added, “we want to work with residents to ensure they are protected and that the council invests in improving the smaller parks in our city”.
