Better Together Community Support Group for Stoke-on-Trent and N-u-L have released photographs of their Clayton community garden under construction.

The site next to Our Lady and Saint Werburgh’s Catholic Primary School on Seabridge Lane features a wildlife garden, vegetable plot and grassed picnic area.

A spokesperson for Better Together said “our volunteers have worked to create a garden that will be valued by everyone in the community who uses it for years to come”.

The charity plan to use the garden to host some of their groups supporting parents of young children and people who are socially isolated.

They also plan to use it to promote caring for the environment through making space for nature and reducing food waste.

The garden will be formally opened by Better Together patron Jo Gideon MP at a launch event on Saturday 25th June.
